What We Do
Building Hope, Confidence, and Community
Our Mission
To create a supportive and empowering environment where children with upper limb differences and their families can connect, share experiences, and build confidence. Hand Camp Colorado aims to foster resilience, celebrate differences, and promote a sense of belonging for all participants.
Our Vision
To create a community where children with upper limb differences are treated equally, feel confident, supported, and celebrated.
Our Story
“As a pediatric hand surgery fellow at Texas Scottish Rite, I witnessed a moment that changed everything. At Hand Camp 1.5, a young girl with symbrachydactyly taught another with the same limb difference to tie her hair for the first time, and the air filled with tears of joy. In that instant, I knew no training could match the power of one child uplifting another who truly shared their struggle. Determined to create a haven for these children, I vowed to build a hand camp wherever life led me. In 2022, that promise became reality as we secured the 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, and by 2023, Hand Camp Colorado officially launched. Each year we grow stronger, building a legacy of community, empowerment, and lifelong bonds.”
